NHS or Private Eyecare ? Which is better for me?

​Private Eye Care 

You are entitled to a free NHS sight test if you :

• Are aged 60 or under 16
• Are aged 16-18 and are still in full time education
• Are blind or partially sighted
• Need complex lenses
• Have been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
• Are over 40 and have a family history of glaucoma
• Are claiming certain benefits

However, you should be aware that the NHS test is not your only Option.
There are better and more technically advanced testing methods available to you, through our private Eye care plans, iProtect and Enhanced iProtect.

I get a Free NHS test, so why would I choose to go private?

Thanks to investment in new technology, the standard of eyecare we can offer is now better than ever! Our latest equipment uses advanced technology you would normally only find in a hospital. 
It can detect abnormalities up to 5 years earlier than a traditional eye test! 
Our 3D OCT machine scans the eye 60,000 times a second which helps us monitor even the smallest changes over time before you may notice a problem.
Unfortunately, the funding we receive from the NHS simple doesn't cover the cost of providing these advanced screening techniques.

NHS eye tests are usually only every 2 years* but with our Private plans, you come when you need to, as often as you need, without charge.
